October Bits

Well it has been a wild ride the last couple of months in the Middle School/ Elementary realm.  November is not that much different!  Rifle season is starting up and the rumors floating around the halls are that there will be an increase in trophy animals taken this year.  I am still waiting to see how this one pans out, but I do wish all of you the best of luck!
Our middle school fall sports have just wrapped up this week, and we jumped right into winter sports with girls basketball starting yesterday.  There are not many practices until our first game and then we will continue with games until Christmas Break.  Next week is Red Ribbon Week and we are all getting prepared for the dress up days and activities that accompany it.  There will be an assembly starting at 1:30 pm in the Varsity Gym to promote both RRW and Montana Crunch Day. I sent out a note earlier this week about our Halloween parade.  If you are in the area, please feel free to stop by and see all of our ghosts and ghouls on Friday, October 30th at 1:30 pm.  Teachers are also arranging parties after lunch.  To help with the “sugar lows” this year, Daylight Savings is falling back on November 1st.  If you show up to school at the previous hour, you will be waiting awhile in the cold before class!
Parent teacher conferences are scheduled for November 9th and 11th this year from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.  Please come in and see what your kiddo/s is doing in class and speak to their teachers.  On November 11th is also our Veteran’s Day Program.  It will start at 10:00 am in the Varsity Gym.  Please come and honor our Veterans, Mrs. Heilig and her classes have been working hard to prepare a great performance to recognize our men and women of service. Other than this, we have a group of   MBI middle school students preparing for the MBI Youth Days held in Helena on November 15th and 16th, and we are released from school at 1:00 pm on November 25th for Thanksgiving Break.
