Degrees and Certifications:
I grew up in the small town of Philipsburg, where my parents still live. I then moved to Dillon to pursue an elementary education degree. While attending Western, I started working for the US Forest Service as a wildland firefighter. I spent seven years chasing smoke all over the western part of America. I worked for the Forest Service in the summer and subbed in the winter while I waited for an opportunity to apply for a teaching position locally.
I was happy to get the teaching position in Whitehall School District. I love the spontaneity and relationships that occur in the classroom. Every day presents a welcomed challenge to better a child’s life. This is my second year at Whitehall and I cannot wait to see what exciting things the year has in store.
I’m a very outdoorsy person. I absolutely love bow hunting and riding horses. In fact, if I could I would either be a professional hunter or own a big working ranch. I’ve been playing the piano since I was five and I use that and reading to relax at night. Like I said, I enjoy riding horses and competing. This last year, my partner and I won the World Championship Skijoring competition in the Women's/Novice division. I currently own too many horses, cats, and one very energetic chocolate lab puppy named Moose.
